Switching to Boot ROM mode for MTK-based devices without using test points
To prepare the locked MediaTek-based devices for decryption, PKM needs them to be switched to Boot ROM mode. It used to offer two options to do this: connecting the test points, which might be complicated due to device disassembling, and holding the volume buttons, which might not work on all devices. Passware Kit Mobile 2024 v1 now offers a third option: using the boot preloader, which allows investigators to switch many devices to Boot ROM mode more easily.
Support for iOS 15.8 on A8, A8X, A9, and A9X devices
PKM 2024 v1 adds support for iOS 15.8 on Apple A8/A8X/A9/A9X devices, such as the iPhone 6S and iPad Pro 12.9″.
